Do I need to pay in order to offer my services?
There is no charge whatsoever for talents interested in registering their services.
Our operating fees are charged to the clients who use our services: there is a 15% fee for completed mandates.
How do I apply for a project offered on the site?
You must have created a profile in order to connect to the site.
In the details for the offers of projects open to candidates there is a button to use to apply for a project.
What do you mean by pre-selection?
What makes our platform effective is that is managed by a real team that verifies the clients’ offers and the talents’ profiles in order to guarantee that we provide a level of quality service that our competitors cannot match.
Our team is comprised of web communication specialists who will pre-select for our clients the talents that are best suited to complete their mandates.
It is then up to the client to make the final selection for the talent who will be awarded the project from the pre-selected profiles.
How does the invoicing work?
Before starting a project you can negotiate a deposit with clients. This will allow you to guarantee their commitment in awarding the mandate.
You invoice the client directly once the work has been delivered.
For substantial mandates, you can establish various stages within a project that can be paid upon completion.
These terms are at your discretion, based on your professional habits. However, remember that if you need some advice, Les Tontons are there to help you, so contact us
How do I create a talent profile?
Creating a profile is done in a single stage and takes only a few minutes.
- Section 1: Fill in your contact information (required)
- Section 2: Specify your studies, training and professional experience (optional*)
- Section 3: List your professional competencies and level of expertise (optional*)
* Sections 2 and 3 are optional, you can log into your account to complete this information at a later date.
It is strongly recommended, however, that you fill in this information as it will increase your chances of success when applying to offers.
I am a talent-member, can I also offer mandates?
Of course, because united we stand…!
One of the unique facets of Les TONTONS, which adds to the strength of the network, is the fact that talents can offer projects to other talents in order to provide their own clients with more complete services.
To do this you must create a client account with a different email address than the one used for your talent account.
How do I change the information on my profile?
It’s very simple, just log in to your account using your email and password, then click on the “Change my profile” button that appears in the login zone.
I have applied to many offers but have not been awarded a single project.
- Have you completed your profile? Having an online portfolio is a must for creative professions like graphic design, animation, page layout… for other professions a CV may suffice.
- Read the blog post: It explains how you can easily create a portfolio online on our blog. You just might find it interesting.
- Have you provided details on your rates for different types of services, hourly or daily? Specify the currency if you are looking for international mandates.
- When you apply to an offer you can provide the client with references via a message box, this can sometimes make a difference. When you apply to an offer, double check the location for completing the mandate.
- We enjoy meeting network members! If you are in the Montreal region and passing through the downtown area, we would be delighted to meet with you in our offices to discuss your talents.
If you are too far away, no problem, we can set up a time for a video-conference.
How do I delete my profile?
If you are presently working full time and do not want to apply to an offer at this time, you can specify this directly in your profile.
In order to do this, use your login information to connect then click on the “Change my profile” button located in the login zone and indicate this by answering 0% to the question: Are you a full time freelancer?
To completely remove your account, send an email to talent@lestontons.com using the email address that you used to set up the account and mention the reason why you want to cancel your registration.
A confirmation is required before your account is actually deleted.
